Amos Trust is a small creative human rights organisation
Our Vision, Mission and Values
Our Vision
We believe that another world is possible, a world where justice flows, the silenced are heard and no one is forgotten.
Our Mission
We work to challenge injustice, restore rights and create hope. We work with grassroots partners, listening to their needs and acting on their concerns. We set out to build local creative solutions to global issues.
Today we’re working in three areas where justice is threatened and rights are ignored:
- Gender Justice
Transforming the lives of girls and young women on the streets, so they can live free from abuse. - Palestine Justice
Campaigning for equal rights for Palestinians and ending Israel’s apartheid policies. - Climate Justice
Equipping young women land defenders and climate activists to establish innovative responses to the impact of climate change that protect their communities and ecosystems.
Our Values
- HOPE
We work to nurture hope because hope is essential to human flourishing and has the power to transform our world. - JUSTICE
We know that justice is essential for long-term peace, for reconciliation and for societies to prosper. - RIGHTS
We believe in human dignity and rights for all. We want to help people know, defend and claim their rights.
The way we work
- RESPONSIVE
Listening to those in need and stand in solidarity with them, acting to make positive change. - CREATIVE
Working creatively to change people’s perceptions of how the world is and how it can become better. - COLLABORATIVE
Collaborating and connecting with long-term partners, our supporters and all those who share our values. - SPIRITUAL
Fostering an inclusive spirituality of activism that equips and sustains people on the long road to justice.
Our identity
Amos Trust is rooted in the inclusive stream of Christianity that stresses justice and liberation for the oppressed. We work to create this through non-violence, reconciliation and peace. In all our areas of work we set out to challenge attitudes which diminish justice and make liberation harder.
Amos’ name was inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King’s use of the Hebrew prophet Amos’ call to “Let justice flow like rivers.”
