“In the sigh of the forest, in the heartbeat of the ravine. Here I am, finding myself, dancing and celebrating.”

About Nuria

I am a Black woman and feminist, a human and environmental rights defender and member of the Movement for the Defence of the Forest and Water Basins of Tancítaro. I have dedicated my youth to protecting natural assets and the rights of local communities.

With training in geography and cultural studies, I work to promote environmental justice and citizen participation from a gender and territorial perspective, creating spaces for political advocacy that prioritise the safety and inclusion of people in vulnerable conditions.
