Amos Trust statement – October 2023

Amos Trust statement
October 2023

Amos Trust is an organisation committed to non-violence, justice and peace.

We condemn the brutality of Hamas’s attack and the appalling loss of life.

We denounce Israel’s 17-year-long siege of Gaza and their decision to halt all fuel, food, water and medicine to the entire population of Gaza. 70% of the population already depended on food aid, 95% of tap water is undrinkable, medicine levels are precariously low and hospitals will soon run out of fuel.

We condemn the severity of Israel’s retribution, which will leave thousands dead. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who mourn and those terrified for missing relatives.

Amos Trust and our friends and partners fear what the coming days will bring in Gaza and across Israel and the West Bank. We call for a cessation of violence, the creation of humanitarian corridors, the release of hostages, that all parties are held accountable under international law and a renewed effort to establish a just, long-term peace.
